David Jones

David Jones did a general course in art at the Berkshire College of Art and then studied painting as a special subject at Camberwell School of Art in London. For many years he worked as a museum curator in Salford, Kidderminster and Norwich, not as one might expect in art, but the social history field.

His experience as a museum curator and continuing interest in history is evident in his work whether figurative or abstract. He is fascinated by the fact that our present day streets often follow the lines of long gone features like hedgerows and tracks. His prints in particular often have prominent contemporary features but they are still mindful of history since once recorded such scenes soon become history.
